I Love Liam

Pin It Now! There are times in everyone's life when we feel lucky, and no matter what is currently going on in life you know that things will get better. It's hard for me, personally, to not get down about my husband not having a job and not having the comfort of his income anymore.

But reading a story such as Liam's really puts things into perspective. It turns those small, or even not-so-small, life potholes into small divets that are easy to overcome. Liam has a neuromuscular disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2. You can read more about Liam's life and family in his mother's blog.

Reading Liam's story I was overcome with hope and empathy for this amazing little boy and his loving family. Once I found out they are from my city I instantly became drawn to read more.

I urge you to read Liam's story. His mother's graciousness will inspire you.

I'm a sucker for a good-looking collar. Having 3 dogs and having owned a dog supplies store we have quite a selection around our house, but I just can't stop myself when I see them!

The Mod Dog has me addicted to their gorgeous collars. I connstantly peruse their Etsy shop and daydream of how cute their collars would be on my furbabies.

On The Rocks

Pin It Now! As a *huge* fan of Lady Gaga - yes I did just admit that publicly - I have to show you this video. On The Rocks is an a capella group at University of Oregon whose rendition of "Bad Romance" has gone viral. They are great, and this video is awesome!

...And I'm Back!

Pin It Now! Whew! What a busy spring we've had at the Crafty house. My beloved aunt is moving to our city, so we've been preparing for the 1,000 mile road trip and apartment shopping. I've been incredibly busy getting ready to transfer to University, trying to finish up all my pre-requisites for my degree and upper-level courses. We've given our home a face lift with a brighter, fresher look and more citrusy, spring colors. I guess I'm a busy lady these days!

But back to crafting. I have some fun projects coming up and a new exciting adventure - an Etsy store! I've yet to name it, so any suggestions you have I would love to hear! I will be selling adorable cosmetic bags and tissue holders, along with some curtains made-to-order and some other fun things, all made with bright, lively fabrics and colors.

My Family Tree

Pin It Now! Can I just say that Ancestry.com is awesome? Well, it is! I have been spending countless hours (hence the lack of crafting!) on my family tree and have made it back into the 1300's on one side, and the 1500's on the other side.

I've been able to find pictures, wills, books written about family members, and so much more just by working my way backwards through the family limbs.

The membership fee is pretty reasonable for the information they give you access to. I highly recommend it!
And, I get to cross off #6 and #7 from my 101 in 1001!

Slump... and Free Stuff Friday!

Pin It Now! I guess I've been in a bit of a blogging slump, huh? Starting a new term at school is always a little difficult, and this term I'm taking pretty difficult classes. But I've been spending a lot of time with my Little Sister, and volunteering.

But I promise I will be posting more now that life has slowed down to a more normal pace! Look out for some fun and easy Mod Podge crafts this weekend.
