Resolution Progress Check-In: Week 1

Pin It Now! Well it's been one week since my 2011 resolution post and I'm happy to report that I've made some progress!

Yesterday I started at my local Bikram Yoga studio.  I was prepared to sweat, but I had no idea what Bikram would actually be like.  Whoa!  It was very difficult, but I felt amazing afterwards.  It relieved so much stress and all of my muscles felt warm and strong - exactly the feeling you want after a hard workout.  Here in Oregon there's not much opportunity to sweat, so it also did wonders for my skin.  I can't wait to go back tomorrow!

I've also been tracking my calorie and water intake.  Lately I've been bad about drinking water, so it's really important to track it so I know how much to drink and it forces me to drink more!

As for the calories, I have a limit each day and have been very good about staying within that range.  I've been eating a lot of soups lately, which are filling, but low in calories.  I've also been eating more fiber and taking probiotics and a great pre-natal vitamin.  {Prenatals are great for ALL women, not just pregnant women}

I think I'm making good progress towards a healthier, happier life!  How are your New Year's resolutions coming along?

...back on the wagon!

Pin It Now! So I've been slacking, big time! I've gone without exercising for a couple weeks now. We had some guests in from out-of-town and ate out ALOT, and also went to Texas where everything is smothered and covered and fried with grease and oil.

So, it's time to get my butt back into gear and GET INTO SHAPE! Finally. And I think I'm doing pretty well. I'm staying at my Basal Metabolic Caloric intake level each day - which really isn't that hard I've found out. I'm trying to cut out as many empty calories and carbs out of my diet as possible. I actually ate a sandwich, minus the bread today for lunch. Boy, how do I miss my bread, but I miss my little figure even more, so I think I'll be ok!

Husband and I have also been fast-walking/jogging (he jogs, I try to keep up!) every day at our local high school track. Plus, I enrolled in a weight lifting course at my school that I'll be starting out in 2 weeks. I get a lot of recipes from a great website called MyFreedomFit.com. They are easy, yummy, and healthy! As we go along I hope to post some of my own low-fat recipes that I've created to share with you. Here's to losing some bootie!!

Let's Get Physical

Pin It Now! I'm writing this in my blog because I need a big kick in the ass to start getting serious about losing weight. I ordered Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred from Amazon, which should be arriving on Friday - for only $8.49! Today I started walking, I tried to jog, but hah! yeah right! I also am doing 100 crunches and 100 heel beats each day. I have a goal to lose 10 lbs. by May 20th, so help keep me in check, ok? :)
